Jailed husband faces charge in brutal second wife case
Edward Franks, first husband of Mrs. Joe Deroche, is jailed in Wooster on $5,000 bond for alleged brutal treatment of his second wife, Saloma Amstutz Franks. Police say she was confined with padlocks and ropes, beaten, burned, and starved. Franks mother and wife were detained on $2,000 bonds. The accused’s history includes earlier arrests for horse stealing and prior marriages and imprisonments.
