The Rittman Legion Veterans extended their win streak to six with a doubleheader sweep of Sterling 7-2 and 4-0 on Decoration Day at Bowerstown. Tom Craig excelled in the first game with 11 strikeouts, while Kenny Haldiman and Reynolds allowed only two hits in the nightcap as the Vets total 12 hits led by Haldiman and Petkoff. The team next plays Lorain on Saturday and Massillon Hardware on Sunday.

Goodrich developed a garden hose made of Koroseal and selected a gold colored board for the package, a color not previously produced. The R and D department tested gold and silver liners as quality packaging. Sample construction was accepted and production began for an early delivery date.

The Ohio Box board announces moves in planning purchasing and personnel departments into new quarters. The old planning offices are vacated and may host the sales department, while the purchasing area expands. A new research lab replaces the old one. The railroad overpass from Industrial Street to Route 94 has received its final coat of paint and a South side fence encourages bridge use.
