Rittman is underbuilt with at least a dozen three family homes and many young couples living with relatives. Local leaders warn that relieving crowded conditions could attract money, lenders, and builders, creating demand for about 50 new homes and more winter-ready housing.
Charles Rohrer bought the frame residence on the Dennis estate on South Main Street near the Square at an auction last Thursday evening for 325 dollars amid several bidders. RC Stirgman bought the barn at the rear for 25 dollars. Rohrer plans to move the house to the west side of Seneca Street next week as Shell Petroleum Co plans terrace work and a fore service station.
