Delinquencies rise while special assessments and credits shrink, urging economies and expenditure reductions to reflect the new low mood.
Rittman Scouts host Red Panther Week at Camp Mau atue Akron Area Scout Camp featuring Indian dress battles and a pace of Indian White Settler activities. The program emphasizes swimming tests with many entrants likely to pass the First Class swim by week’s end. The Bos Spout Reporter will join a weekly NBC broadcast on WEAF NYC and WTAM Cleveland discussing Scout topics and leader interviews. Jack Taylor named Field Executive for Western districts including Wadsworth Medina and Lodi. Frank G Hallett Jr Eagle Scout of troop 18 Ak-tows wins an Intelligence Test prize earning a trip to Italy.
County men from Wayne will gather at Orrs Park Orrville on Sunday afternoon August 22 for a county wide Bible Class meeting. The event aims to include every late class with a brief program from 2 to 4 pm. Guy P Leavitt of Cincinnati and John Mcintosh of Canton are billed as principal and featured speakers.

Fishermen tell tales of Hastings where Bill Swartz released a catch while anchoring his boat. He had a large string of fish and, while pulling in the anchor, the string whipped free sending the fish back to the water. The tale ends with a noted mishap and amused commentary.
The second comedy concert by the Rittman Firemen's Band, directed by Homer Ferrer, was well received on Wednesday night to a crowded square. Another performance is planned for next Wednesday.
Lightning struck a telephone wire at the home of Mr and Mrs Spain on a Saturday morning. The resulting fire caused about $60 in damages. Firefighters arrived quickly, and a man named Poe narrowly avoided injury while racing to the station.

Rotary members heard Rep DPW Galehouse outline the recent tax measure. He said the new law is revenue focused, temporary for about a year and a half, and aims to tax intangible assets such as stocks and bonds more broadly.
The Missea Mtadege and Jane Four from Cleveland appeared for an audition at WOIAY radio station Monday evening. They tested well and were told to return for future testing, with Jones and Charles Pre advising them.
The WCTVU will hold its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday July 29 at the home of Miss Jane Spade on Second Street.
The school board held a special meeting Monday night and awarded the janitor contract to Rohrer and approved staffing for several buildings. Melvin Ritter was sworn in to fill the unexpired term of Frank Warter Horshey. Rob McCoy remains janitor at the First sat building. Frank Harter to handle the high school. Kindergarten will be discontinued to save about $100000, with Miss Evelyn Harter assuming the first grade role.
A birthday party was held in Rittman Central Park last Friday for Donna Dean Stoolmiller celebrating her eighth birthday. The party featured a pink and yellow cake and lemonade, with games entertaining the guests and gifts given to Donna Dean. Attendants included Annette Stearns Kathryn Moor Virsinda Winkle Betewfhele Wenger Warvetta Shook Lole Kettler Irene Blatter and Evalyn Saur.
The Presbyterian Sunday School Friendship Class held a park social last Friday with the Joming side winning 3825 permits and Meo Oshern and Mroo¢ IS Fnogland leading the other side with 5740 points. Attendance averaged 40 with 22 new members joining the class and Mrs Parkinson and Mrs Wehner as captains.
Two men underwent operations for appendicitis. wi iJ Clark was rushed to Wadsworth hospital Saturday and is rapidly improving. Wilbur Cognwell was hospitalized at Kinney and Smith and operated on for appendicitis Friday. Chath Lambert returned from Wandsworth hospital Sunday after a three week stay for a stomach rupture.
Village council met briefly with all members present except Wenger. Bills totaling 2400.00 included land purchase for Rattman cemetery enlargement. Lighting and curb work along Sterling avenue discussed, with two more lights planned. The council adjourned to Tuesday to pass the note ordinance for paving Sterling avenue this fall.
Oille Cox mourns as wife and daughter die within days of July 6 and his brother Austin Cox also passes. Survived by Mary Cox. daughter Fred Frost. brothers Will Ed Burt. sister-in-law Mary Doules Coxon. service at Seville Hospital Church with Rev Randall. burial Mount Rose Cemetery Akron.
Miss Sara Swigart and Will Ward wed in an improvised altar at the Charley Swigart cottage near Akron with Rev Robert Tack officiating. The bride wore green chiffon and carried white sweet peas and roses. sister Miss Piffin Swigart attended. The couple planned a Great Lakes cruise then residence in Trenton New Jersey.
The Uild Brethren church in Rittman hosted a July 18 wedding at 4 30 pm for Misa Irene Mra E J C Cummings and Johan H Collina. The ceremony featured floral decor, a pink white theme, and a three course dinner for sixty supporters. The couple will live at 80 South Second Street, Rittman.
A barn on the Rosa Tisher farm one mile west of Sterling burned to the ground before Sterling firemen arrived. The old storage barn held tools a corn binder a corn shredder and five tons of baled hay were destroyed with only five tons of hay saved. Damages are undetermined at this time and the farm is tied to the former Steele property.
