Robert Ramseyer 22 of Sterling was rescued after a 60 foot silo fall at the Melvin Beery farm near Rittman Road. He suffered a concussion head cuts and a back injury after dropping to scaffolding ten feet below. He was treated at Orrville Osteopathic Hospital and was expected home soon.

Morton Salt Company announced a wage increase for hourly workers including raises from 20 to 30 cents per hour, broader health care benefits, an extra holiday on Christmas Eve for 250 employees, and a fifth week of vacation for 30 year staff.
