Rev and Mrs. Paul Daniels with children spent a week in Bellview Michigan visiting Rev Daniels sister Garnet Montgomery and family, then toured Detroit. Mary Jo Sohar of Rittman earned Wooster Business College dean’s list honors with a 40 average for spring quarter in accounting. Nicole Lynn Feister born July 10 at Akron City Hospital to Kent and Pam Feister weighing 7 lbs 9 oz. Bernie Owen and Barb moved to Evansville Indiana. Vance siblings pursue studies and jobs in Virginia and Washington DC. Anne McCaffrey and Mary Ann Metz returned from New York after meetings with Mayor Beame, attending Operation Sail and a ticker tape parade, Staten Island Ferry ride, and Battery fireworks.

Wayne County excursion to Fallen Timbers and Fort Meigs
Wayne County Bicentennial Committee offers an all day trip Saturday Aug 21 to Perrysburg Ohio to honor General Anthony Wayne. The tour includes Fallen Timbers monument wreath laying Fort Meigs reconstruction and siege dioramas with a 12.50 cost for transport and land. Reservations at Rittman Press.

Morton Salt To Host Open House in Rittman
The Morton Salt Company invites the city of Rittman to an open house on Thursday July 22 from 2 to 8. Tours of about 1 percent hours will cover two floors and involve significant walking. Daniel J. Brubeck former editor at the Rittman Press and Maple Heights Press has been promoted to manager of communication services at Eaton Corporation Cleveland. He will oversee internal and external publications graphics and audio visual communications. Brubeck joined Eaton in 1968 as administrator of employee communications after editing Chessie News at C&O-B&CO. Senior Citizens Dinner and Police Blue Flu Incident
Rittman seniors plan a covered dish dinner on Wednesday July 21 at 12 30 p m at the American Legion Hall with bring your own dish and table service. A blue flu strike hit the Rittman police Monday leaving seven of nine officers off duty. Wadsworth attorney Thomas Palecek REA representative says he has no knowledge of the action and no strike vote occurred though Friday's meeting showed dissatisfaction with city negotiations. The blue flu ended Tuesday with police returning to work.

Tornadoes and Winds Hurt Rittman Area Over Weekend
