The Citizens Savings and Loan Co reelected officers at the 14th annual session. Olive was reelected president with Vow and Hoddger as officers. Board members include Gigehous Beery Marth Branigan and John J Wine. The fiscal year shifts from June 30 to December 31.
The Rittman July 4 celebration and Jubilee, backed by the Rittman Band and Modern Woodmen of America, attracted over 6 000 people from the area. A spectacular fireworks show capped three days of free attractions and entertainment, with awards given Saturday for prizes including an electric refrigerator, washing machine, a radio, and a bicycle to local winners.
Frank Morgan among Rittman students listed as Ohio State University attendees. Morgan, a freshman in chemical engineering and AIChE member, is noted with Alexander a sophomore in electrical engineering, Dostal a freshman in engineering, and Escovitz a sophomore in commerce and administration who helped on the Makio yearbook staff.
Nine members of the Otterbein Guild of the Sterling United Brethren church attended the District picnic at Ashland on Wednesday. Miss Alice Bells of Dayton, general secretary of the Woman’s Missionary Society, and Miss Patton of Zanesville, president of the district WMA, gave the main addresses. The Sterling society presented the playlet The Lighted Highway, with Miss Fannie Davidson presiding. Other Sterling delegates included Doris Steele Ruby Cross Ruth Glessner Beulah Hickman Grace Gaytons Ruth Hart Katherine Rich and Mary Wirth.
State Auditor Joseph Tracy announced that $20 000 in sales tax funds will be mailed to school districts across the state. Checks totaling $2,518,649 are being mailed from Columbus for the six weeks ending June 30, distributed according to pupil counts.
Quarantine signs for scarlet fever in Green Township were removed today as Wooster reports no remaining cases in the county. Last week a single case was noted in Rewonda, with county officials recalling earlier concerns about the outbreak.
Postmaster announces changes to return address rules affecting putts not eagles. Details include a five cent fee for insuring mail return, a new registry fee for letters with one dollar or more, and a shift in processing by the post office.

The Rittman Independents meet Orrville Merchants at the local athletic field Sunday at 2 20 pm. Manager Dick Clayton works to line up pitching with Harry Red Schaad or Cub Cover expected on the mound for Orrville. The Merchants own a three win two loss record this season.
Miss Helen Wayt daughter of Mrs Arigsa Wayt Creston and Alvin J Marty son of Mr and Mrs Fred Marty Sterling wed in Wheeling Virginia on Saturday June 29 The ring ceremony was conducted by Rev Fredrick Crapp Jr with Mrs Leonard Moore of Wheeling attending The bride wore a white trend sports dress with matching accessories One line of text notes the couple will reside in Creston after the ceremony
The Milton Garden club received an invitation to a Flower Show School at Ashland. The event, Friday July 12 at the YMCA, runs 11:15 with Victor Ries of Ohio State University leading. Members are urged to attend, bring one or two bouquets and vases, and participate in a hands on practice.
The parish grounds at St Peter and St Paul in Doylestown host a Saturday evening carnival on July 20. The Doylestown Band will provide music and the public is invited.
The Wooster boxing commission denied Otis Thomas a rematch with Reed before August 2 at Wooster Coliseum. The unanimous decision says Thomas cannot be ready for Reed’s fighting style by the date. The commission aims to avoid unfavorable comment and seeks a rival who will provide stiff competition.
A retired Sterling mail carrier, D. Steele, plans to extend his driving record after 26 years of daily miles and Florida coast trips. He left active service last fall but, along with wife Mrs Steele, resumed travel to Florida and beyond, vowing to continue driving as long as he can shift gears.
David Colter age 56 dies Wednesday morning at Newark Ohio home of a daughter Mrs Kidd. Survived by four daughters and two sons. Services Friday at 2 pm Leickheim funeral home Orrville Rev Delautero officiating. Interment in Applecreek cemetery.
Willard B. Landis announces the birth of his second son on a tire advertisement captioned Being a brand new daddy is nothing compared with the blow out I had. The Akron event noted in Rittman with Landis now affiliated with B F Goodrich Co. advertising department and previously with the Rittman Press. His mother is Mrs. Joseph Landis of North Main Street.
Funeral services were held for Clarence Amstutz at the Apostolic Church in Hartzler Township with interment at the church cemetery. John Hartzler and Mrs Clarence were among those attending the service for Amstutz, who died at age 79.
The thirteenth annual Lips Heartin Woman’s Benefit association convention is set for July 16 to 23 in Cleveland. Activities include a reception for the supreme president Blau Weer Ma Jer, a parade through downtown, a Winners Banquet at the Cleveland hotel, a Prosperity Pageant at the stadium, a fireworks finale, and a pioneer reunion at Euclid Beach. The group began in Cleveland 43 years ago with 23 charter members led by Bina West Miller. there are 48 state divisions and international chapters involved.
Barbers in Wooster may secure blank license forms for 1936 at the County Auditor’s office per Auditor Pau S Yodor. Additional blanks are available from S C Anderson, 316 East Liberty Street, secretary of the county barbers association.
Services were held Saturday morning at St. Ann's Catholic church for Mitsu Frazen Veney age 2 of Creston. The Rev Frnh T E Farrell conducted the services. Surviving are a brother Peter Veney of Wooster and a sister Mrs Karma Coulter of Creston. Burial was to St Ann's cemetery with A L Ebert in charge of arrangements.
Frank E. Ott, 24, inspector, and Myr M. Edwards, 18, of Wadsworth, were granted a license to wed by Medina County Court last week.
The new Ohio automobile d r ers law imposes financial responsibility requirements starting August 20. Residents or non residents with judgments must provide proof of ability to pay and may have driving privileges, subject to deposit options of up to $11,000 or insurance coverage of $1,000,000 for property damage and $5,000 or more for other limits.
A community group near Orrville will host a speaking event about roses. Local residents including Leeann Perretin Tollinaele are expected to attend and discuss garden care, varieties, and tips.

Three men were arrested in Bar Inot on Wednesday and charged with petty pilfering tied to a Sterling theft ring. They allegedly used a shape changing method to obtain money by manipulating store bills during two weeks of activity in Sterling Rittran and Wooster, with a reported attempt at A and P. Deputies say the group entered stores, made small purchases, and profited from altered bills. all three will be returned to Wonater to face clothing restitution and related charges.
A total of 848 4 H club members have enrolled in Wayne County for the year 1935 including 337 boys in 16 clubs and 611 girls in 24 clubs. Members will exhibit at the Wayne County Fair September 24 to 27 at Wooster under Extension Service supervision. Local clubs list leaders for girls and boys including Mrs E B McConnelly Fanny Davidson Mary Hostetler Anna Louie Zimmer and H Wolf.
Joanna Hofer 89 died TuesdayJuly 2 after heart trouble and infirmities of old age. Funeral services set for Friday at St the Bom of her daughter Mrs Wi Cihlar of Doylestown. Burial in Chantut Hil cemetery. She is survived by daughter Mrs Cihtar and three grandchildren using the last Oscars Bhs reference as a misprint.
Mrs. Florence Viall suffered a stroke Sunday evening paralyzing her right side. She is a former resident of Hamburg now living in Sterling with her son Charles. The report mentions Glen Berntoldy a 24 year old railroad employee and Ruth Double associated with the incident last week.
Funeral services for Thomas A. LaBo 23 of Doylestown were held at St Peter and Pauls church with Rev John Frey conducting. He died after months of illness at his home near Doylestown. He was a chemist, member of the Catholic church and the Order of the Macabees of Barberton. Survived by widow Mary Zimmersman LaBo, four children, parents Mr and Mrs Burty A LaBo, sisters Martha LaBo and Breck Verda Odona, Ruth Sevire and Mrs Gladys Stephens. Burial followed at the church cemetery.
A caravan of 20 Ford V-8 trucks and commercial cargo will arrive in Rittman around 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM on Friday for a public display. Truck operators and the general public are invited to inspect the vehicles and learn about their features at the local site.
