The editor established a custom of not issuing a paper the week containing the Fourth of July. Accordingly there will be no issue published during that week. Advertisers and all concerned are asked to note the change and plan advertising and work accordingly. The week of July 4 is the editor’s vacation period.
The Boxboard team defeated Ohio companies 86 to 4 at Wadsworth. Miller and Edis each had three hits, with Miller a double. Rittman’s side featured two runs from Yorkheam’s two on in the eighth. The Ohio Injector game at home ended early in the fifth after a dispute led to a forfeit decision by a Wadsworth umpire.

Mike Ternansky Jr and three friends traveled from Cleveland to Rittwan for an unclear purpose. An argument with Mike Rabith led to Ternansky being struck on the head with a rifle barrel and taken to Dr Alexander for injuries. Mayor Shackleford and court papers involving a car attachment followed, tied to an unpaid hog deal with George Welsh. Rabith did not press charges.
Krmsta Milunovic accused her husband of disorderly conduct at Joe Boganitz's home. Mayor Shackleford fined him ten dollars. Milunovic also fined ten dollars with costs. He paid her fine, continuing a jealous domestic dispute in a series of episodes.
Commencing July Island until further notice the Rittman Camp of the Modern Woodmen of America will meet first and third Tuesday evenings of each month. E. V Schap pter, Clerk. Pub gun 24-full.
The American Legion completed arrangements for the July 4 celebration on Monday July 8 in Rittman Park. Sterling and Rex ton bands will provide music at the carnival grounds with refreshments available. A horseshoe pitching contest features Lewy of Marshallville, with other events including trap shooting, three legged race, sack race, and a tug of war. Prizes include a year’s subscription, sugar, and other gifts from local merchants.
The Rittman Grange held a well attended Friday session as three more candidates received the oblation and more are expected next meeting. Wayne County Pomona Grange is invited to meet September eleventh marking a first opportunity for Rittman. The purchasing agent was authorized to obtain fertilizer prices and arrange a fertilizer order. The Lecture Tour featured songs, discussions and a Bertha Lance recitation. An ice cream social at Kern Steiner home was a grand success with all enjoying a fine time. The Grange plans another session and hopes for broad attendance.
Iattle Dale Boling the son of Mr and Mrs Warley Boling celebrated his fourth birthday at his home on W Sevond Street with a party Friday afternoon. Twenty nine little guests attended the celebration which ran from 2 to 4 pm. A cake with four candles was the centerpiece of the table.
At a Wooster ceremony Miss Clara Bachman of Rittman married Henry F. Schar of Barbertony, with Rev. F. S. Zangg officiating. They left for Niagara Falls and will reside in Barberton. Also Miss Clara Bodager of Milton township wed Harry E. Berry of Wonaster at the First Presbyterian parsonage, Wooster, with Rev. S. M. Nesbitt. they will live in Wooster. A third wedding saw Jacob Linn of Wadsworth, formerly Rittman, wed Miss Mettie Lutz of Stersding. they plan to reside in Wadsworth.

The First Annual Alumni Banquet of Rittman High School took place at Schorger's Hall on June 26 with 58 graduates and guests. The event featured a six table meal, decorations in red and white, a program led by toastmaster A W Hoover, and reminiscing of former school days.

The funeral of Mrs. Ivio Belle Kurtz was held at the United Brethren Church in Sanday at 2 p.m. The Rev. L. A. Shafer officiated. She is buried in Knapp's cemetery. She dies June 23 1920 at age 48. She left a husband Elmer Kurtz and thirteen children. She was a member of the United Brethren Church of Rittman.
Widespread theft at Erie freight license yard as several at cars opened Monday night and again June 20. Agents report merchandise targeted but not found. Police note repeated break ins with thieves seemingly seeking specific goods.
Gratitude is expressed by Leneh on the Tae Krabill farm two and a half miles west of Rittman to neighbors and friends who cultivated his corn Tuesday. Mr Leach is suffering from blood poisoning ongoing for three weeks.
The article notes that thirty five states have ratified the suffrage amendment and Tennessee is poised to act. If Tennessee ratifies, Secretary of State Colby will issue the certificate and women nationwide will be eligible to vote for President in November. Other ratifications are possible but not required.
Miss Bess Smith and Boyd Miller were quietly married at the study of Ray Riazle in Bloaminks ton Wooster Ohio on June 30 at 10:00 AM. The bride wore a dark blue tailored suit with matching hat. groom wore a fawn blue suit. Mr. and Mrs. Miller are prominent locals. The bride is active in the Girls' club. groom works for the Boxboard office. They left for Cleveland and planned travels to Toronto before settling at home in the fall.
