Joni Gillman faced a delicate moment when she brought a paper bag pet to school under teacher Mrs. Shirley Spear's instruction. The bag revealed a dead mouse, turning the item of pets into an unfortunate incident amid schoolyard notices and birthdays.

Five runners up were named: Clarence Kunkler Herald Mougey John Zivick and W D Hilty. Clippinger joins 17 Hall of Fame members including Robert West and Allan J Broadhurst. The winning letter lauds his decades of community, business, and church service with Ohio Boxboard Company tenure from 1906 to 1956 and notes his longevity and upcoming milestones.
J Felix reelected president of the Packaging Corporation of America Credit Union and three new executive officers four directors and a credit committee member named at a Monday board meeting attended by 260 at Rittman High School. New officers Adams McDougal Delamore elected. Roy Van Nostran joins credit committee.
Rittman Rotary Club seeks college students for Rotary Foundation graduate fellowship or undergraduate scholarship for a year of training abroad during 1970-71. All expenses paid. contact F. O. Applications due March 15. applicants must be 18 to 28, or 18 to 24 for undergrad, with strong public speaking, language ability, and knowledge of history culture geography current affairs.
Ben Bodager was named president of United Fund at the annual meeting held Thursday at Rittman Savings Bank. James W. Frye became vice president and director, with Robert Gillman, for three year terms. Thelma Gwaltney was hired as executive secretary and named Fund treasurer. Retiring directors were A. J. Broadhurst and Mrs Gwaltney after six years. Robert Pait, 1968 campaign chairman, reported a pledge total of sixteen thousand seven hundred eighty eight, short of the seventeenth thousand five hundred goal.
The Mobile Red Cross Bloodmobile will be at the American Legion Hall in Rittman on Monday February 10 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Volunteers are asked to contact Mrs Arthur Bodager for donations and Mrs Jim Beres will coordinate nurse staffing.

Aids Colleges Rittman Savings Bank and numerous firms contribute funds to the Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges Inc. Funds have been solicited for 18 years to aid 34 private member colleges of the OFIC.
The Fine Arts Foundation presents Lola Montés and her Spanish Dancers at Rittman High School on Monday February 10 at 8 p.m. The program features flamenco folk and classical music with lavish costumes and exotic dance routines.
