He taught in Milton Township, worked in a bakery, and is active in Masonic and K of P orders. The appointment is political, but supporters expect efficient service for Washington and local patrons.

Changes in Voting and Ordinances at Rittman Council
At a Monday meeting the mayor and clerk were present with all councilmen responding to their names. Engineer Peters from Medina assisted in arranging bond issues as the council passed the reckless driving ordinance on its third reading and adopted it. Water and sewer ordinances were approved under suspension of the rules. The solicitor was instructed to draft an ordinance regulating pool rooms and prohibiting playing cards. The council room was set as the regular voting place for Rittman voters from this date.
