Congregational Dinner Reelects Church Trustees for Three Years

At the Annual Congregational Dinner and Meeting the Presbyterian church reelected Mr Verne Gebhart and Mrs yc Yochheim as trustees for three years. Mrs Gs His Clips pinger was reelected treasurer for one year and Mrs A de Boert elected organist with Mrs G Clippinger as assistant organist. Plans for future church work were discussed and members will be visited to engage everyone in the church’s mission.

Rotary Club hears talk on Safety Education by Mrs Ethyl Ryan

Mrs Ethyl Ryan of the State Department of Highways and Ohio Safety Service Commission spoke to a Rotary audience on safety education. She has served seven years and will address students at Sterling and Creston schools this afternoon while earlier addressing high school pupils. Annual Akron Area Council Banquet Set With Jamboree Plans

Nearly 500 county officials and their ladies from the Akron Area Council Boy Scouts are expected to attend the annual banquet at the Firestone Club Thursday evening January 24. Old Times Recalled Forty Years Ago at Creston Journal

The Creston Journal remembers forty years past when Mr. Parsons and his brother Walter ran the paper with friends. Ohio State University Bureau reports 1934 employment gains

The Ohio State University Bureau of Business Research finds overall 19.3 percent annual employment rise in 1934. Manufacturing up 20.8 percent, non manufacturing 10.2 percent, construction 2.2 percent. December gains varied by city, Dayton up 11.2 percent, Canton down under 1 percent, with broader December increase of 0.8 percent outside major cities.

Rites Held for Peter Serfass at Loyal Oak Lutheran

Funeral services for Peter Serfass, 98, lifelong resident of the Doylestown area, were held Monday at 2 PM at Loyal Oak Lutheran Church with Rev L Lu Boldjor of Wadsworth officiating. Mass meeting of railroad orders in Chicago discussed work rules

Poison Victim Recovers at Barberton Hospital

Mrs. Bert Michael twenty two of Doylestown is recovering at Citizen's Hospital Barberton after accidentally dosing herself with a-disinfectant. She swallowed two doses and spit out the acids but suffered severe burns to her face and chest while her condition remains serious.
