Boy Scouts Guard Coasters On Night Duty

Eight Scouts from Troop 1 were sworn in and assigned to duty as traffic police. They work in shifts of four guarding raids into Main Diagonal Hill to provide a safer coast for children and parents. Scouts begin at 7 p m and stop at 9 p m ensuring protection from machines.

Red and White Rally Beats Doylestown 29 to 16

In a home game at the local gym, Rittman High School Red and White defeated Doylestown High 29 to 16. Doylestown led briefly 1-8, then Rittman pulled away 9-3 after the first quarter, 15-6 at halftime, and 20-12 by the end of the third. Kunkler scored 13, Yarman 5 for Rittman. McCartney and Centr a led Doylestown.

McElwee Child Is Buried Wednesday

Charles Hugh McElwee two year old son of Mr and Mrs Joseph McElwee died Monday from pneumonia, funeral held Wednesday at St Ann Church with Father Charles Culmet officiating. Burial followed at the Catholic Cemetery south of Sterling. He had been ill with flu which led to pneumonia. his sister Kathleen, seven, is very ill with the same disease.
