Kenneth Selbee was honored with the 1968 Jaycees Distinguished Service Award at a Tuesday banquet for his year of Jaycees service. Gerry Lambert presented Selbee a $25 bond for recruiting the most new members. He led fund raising for the All-Sports Athletic banquet at Rittman High School and supported recreation plans at Front Street Pond with the city council. Kenneth Stiner thanked him as Jaycee president with Warren Hardgrove and Dean Litman on the selection panel.

W H Hauenstein named acting superintendent of Wayne County Joint Vocational School following the December resignation of John R Lea. Hauenstein and Lea serve without pay as largely consultant figures with Hauenstein assisting director Robert Zimpfer. Bank Elects Two New Directors At Annual Meeting
Roger G Hessidence and Don G Houglan were elected to the board of Rittman Savings Bank. Hessidence, a lifelong Rittman resident, served in the 1941 46 period as a captain and currently leads the Rittman container division of Packaging Corp of America. Houglan, a Rittman High School and Kent State alum, spent six years with Glidden Co then co founded B and W Oil Co, and serves on the Rittman Chamber of Commerce board. They reside with their wives at 225 Grandview and 130 South Metzger respectively, with children listed.
