Band Boosters Discuss Fundraising Plans and Sales
Band Boosters met on Monday January 4 to plan fundraising projects they will continue through March selling donuts and a calendar drive in spring. They voted to buy a new concert tuba from candy sale proceeds and purchased black ties for the concert band. The group scheduled a dimmer for the Eastern Stars Inspection Meeting in April and set the next meeting for Monday February 1 at 7 30 in the band room.

Robert J Gasser 45 of R D 1 Sterling died Thursday at University Hospital Cleveland after seven weeks as a patient He was born January 11 1925 in Youngstown lived in Girard before moving to Sterling in 1943 He was a self employed building contractor 1951 1963 and later worked at Gillman Funeral Home for seven years He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church His wife Elda died February 1970 Surviving are four sons James Creston Jerry Jeffrey Neil two daughters Barbara at home and Beverly Moore of Rittman his parents Mr and Mrs Carl Gasser of Girard one brother William of Rittman one sister Evelyn Howley of Phoenix Arizona Services were held at 1 pm Sunday at Gillman Funeral Home and 2 pm at the Apostolic Christian Church Burial followed at Church Cemetery Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 pm Saturday at Gillman Funeral Home
