The village council of Rittman Ohio enacts Ordinance No 884 to employ Frank A Schlup as Water Works Department Clerk for 1924 with a fixed compensation of 240 dollars for the year payable quarterly and a 500 dollar bond. The Clerk must collect water rentals, keep accurate accounts, and report to the Board of Public Affairs. Effective date as permitted by law.

Obituary for Anna Welmer Stocker of Chippewa and Wadsworth
Anna Welmer Stocker, daughter of Rev F B and Julia Welmer, born April 29 1867 in Westmoreland County Pennsylvania, died December 19 1923 at age 66. She joined Brethren churches in Mt Joy Pennsylvania and Chippewa Congregation Ohio, married C W Rike in 1882 and John S Stocker in 1901, with five children born to the two marriages. Interment at East Chippewa church near Orrville occurred December 22. She leaves a husband three sons one daughter three brothers two sisters six grandchildren a stepson a stepdaughter five step grandchildren and many friends.

Nephew of Samuel Escovitz Killed in Accident
Bernard Siegel nephew of Samuel Escovitz of Akron died after his sled struck a machine at East and City View Avenues on January 3. The boy seven years old was out sledding when the crash occurred. His mother is Mr Escovitz's sister who rushed to her sister to offer comfort. The Siegel family resided on Trichy View Ave Akron.

County dog tags drive announced with fees set
Tommy Glasco county dog catcher says dogs at large without 1924 tags will be captured starting next Monday. Tags cost $1 for males $3 for females and $10 for kennels. About 800 tags issued so far this year. 3992 issued last year. Owners may surrender dogs to avoid capture. One dog was run over by a truck near the Press office. Marshal Mills handled the case.
