The fifth annual Christmas tree burning is planned for Thursday at 6:37 p.m. at Industrial Street recreation grounds with Rev. Bernard Raper of First Church of God to speak. No Charges In Whittaker Shooting
In Stark County two men were involved in a shooting at the McCormick home near Cana. Benny McCormick died at Massillon City Hospital four days later. Frank Whittaker of Rittman is in satisfactory condition at Barberton Hospital and due for surgery. Investigators say no charges have been filed and the case remains under review.
