Cecelia Von Rodenberg 71 of 95 West Ohio Ave died Monday at Akron City Hospital after a short illness. Born Sept 9 1901 in Milton Two, she was a life resident and member of Sharon Lutheran Church. Husband Russell died in 1959. Surviving daughters Joan Von Rodenberg and Mrs Jean Cleckner, sister Miss Gladys Holm, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services Wednesday at 1:30 pm from Gillman Funeral Home with burial in Rittman Cemetery. Rev Louis Wolf officiating. James W Chambers 57 of 9942 Wooster Pike Seville died Tuesday February 19 at home after a long illness. Born in West Palm Beach Florida, he lived in Creston 37 years before moving to Seville six months ago. Formerly employed at Wayne Auto Parts and a World War II Army veteran. Surviving wife Evelyn, son James, daughter Mrs Rudy Zollinger, sister Therese Leitzau, and ten grandchildren. Funeral Mass held at St Mary's Catholic Church in Wooster with Father Marquard.

Marianne Zivick an eighth grader at Rittman Middle School won the local spelling bee by correctly spelling carburetor after Evelyn Tomon misspelled it, then spelled ballistics to secure victory and will lead Rittman at the Wayne County Bee on March 27 with runner up Evelyn Tomon also advancing. Rex Stuff placed third after an incorrect spelling of convenience. Crystal Harris finished fourth.

Mrs Carolee L. Neff of Rittman files a civil suit in Wayne County Common Pleas seeking 75000 dollars in damages from Richard D. Taylor of 714 Pittsburgh Ave Wooster for a February 22 1971 accident on US 30. She alleges Taylor attempted to pass and negligently operated his vehicle striking her eastbound car causing medical hospital expenses and loss of earnings.
