Mournful death of Mrs. Crites at 83 in village home

Mrs. Crites, aged 83, died Monday evening at her southwest town residence after a paralytic stroke. She had earlier sought medical help from Dr Alexander, who found her infirmities and again treated her a week later. Her loss is deeply felt by the local community.

Emmet Gettings Injured At Ohio Salt Co Site

Emmet Gettings sustained injuries while tearing out old boilers at the Ohio Salt Co factory. He received medical aid and was transported by ambulance to Wadsworth Community Hospital. His condition was not serious and he was expected to be released to his home south of town.

Rev and Mrs Platter Host Social for Classes

The Presbyterian church parlors hosted a social for Rev and Mrs Platter's classes last Friday night. Members attended, games provided amusement, prizes suited the mood, and a lunch of ice cream cake and coffee was served.

Local Garage Change Hands Involving Bender At S W Maon Street

Vdeal last week saw Bender named owner of the HE OP sSigher garage on S WMaon street with build or gonal equint and supplies. He plans to take possession in March. John Bender, a well known local garage expert, is expected to bring Buick and Reo cars to the shop. Also noted: the sudden death of Mrs Walter Snell on State street last Saturday followed by a fatal accident involving Master Pilwin Rodentaughell, injuring his right forearm in two places.

Community thanks fire department and Ohio Box for help

The note extends gratitude to the local fire department for extinguishing a fire that started near a pond in an office last Thursday morning. Appreciation is also given to Ohio Box Board Co for supplying a truck that aided rapid response and prompt arrival of personnel and equipment.

Mrs Virginier Goffinet Hospitalized After Operation

Mrs Goffinet of Firmt was admitted to Wooster hospital after an ambulance transfer from Ebert. She underwent an operation on Thursday morning and reports indicate her condition is stable with ongoing care and monitoring.

Mrs Frances Bairwell Falls in Rittman Home Incident

Mrs Frances Bairwell of Rittman living on North Main Street fell Wednesday evening and sprained her ankle. The injury is not serious and she is expected to resume household duties in a couple of weeks.

The Pythian Sisters held a hard times social in Kooof PP hall Wednesday evening. Games kept guests busy until a late hour with lunch provided in keeping with the mood of the party.

PTA Meeting Highlights and Youth Health Talk

The PTA at the school auditorium held a Tuesday meeting with Hearth Commissioner Barrett delivering a full hour on services for school age children. Pamphlets on Whooping Cough Child Care pre school health and workers health were distributed and quickly claimed. Officers elected include Mrs Kay Ashbrook president and Mrs Wm Shackleford previous president. vice president Arthur Haney secretary Mrs Fred Hurger treasurer. A shadow social and apron sale were announced for the near future. The Mens ey club and Otterbein College orchestra will perform at the high school Thursday next, with admission 24 and 50 cents, funding travel costs and a modest guarantee for the visit.

Vocational Agriculture and Home Economics Up in State

Nearly 3,000 students enroll in four year agricultural courses with a 36 percent gain since 1922. Animal husbandry shows 7140 students, plus over 1,000 in part time or night classes. Home economics also grows with 1,300 full time vocational students aided by funds, and about 6,000 in evening courses, totaling 7,600 with 260 in part time. Sam says all work and no play makes Jack a city boy.
