Aletha Mae Witherspoon of Orrville has been chosen Wayne County 1967 Easter Seal Child, representing local handi capped children. Born August 30 1964, she has bilateral club feet treated since infancy and wears corrective shoes. she will start duties February 20 and the campaign runs through March 26.
Mrs. Stanley Walker told police a purse was robbed of 69 dollars in the Milton United Presbyterian Church choir room during a worship service.

Rittman police seek 17 year old Caryl Wellman of 295 North Seneca after she fled the police station late Saturday night while booked for disorderly conduct and resisting an officer. Patrolman Perry Lamson said Wellman grabbed him by the throat during an incident at The Staff dance hall and then fled when warned.
The 13th annual PTA musical will rehearse Thursday at 7 30 PM and Sunday at 2 PM in Rittman High School band room. Rehearsals occur each Thursday and Sunday until the March 16 17 18 performances. Directors are Doran and Ralph Aldridge. Dorothy Parkinson oversees tickets. show proceeds fund a future teacher scholarship and school equipment.
Rittman council extends nonresident charges at the city dump for three weeks to allow United Disposal to furnish usage figures. The extension keeps the dump operated by United Disposal of Wadsworth with no charge to residents, while council weighs future operation and tax implications. Mayor Hall opposes current setup and favors limiting use to city township residents. discussions include cost, equipment needs, and potential impact on income tax renewal. A separate bid of 1,668 dollars won for a 3/4 ton pickup, and bids sought for a one-and-a-half ton street truck.
Patrolman Eric Murphy resigns from the Rittman police department. James W. Chambers is rehired to replace him and will serve as patrolman. Chambers previously served 1964 to 1966 on the force.
A North Central Association evaluation found Rittman High School inadequate for providing a minimum education. Report calls for more room, improved outdoor facilities, larger classrooms, upgraded art and shop spaces, a language lab, a library work room, storage, a dedicated driver ed room, and additional guidance and nurse support.
