Court Briefs Auto Case Disposed Of Near Smithville
A week after a night time auto crash near Smithville involving several Rittman youths, Maxine Adkins Morris received a suspended sentence and probation in juvenile court. Carl M Ward of Huntington was released as FBI reports no charges. Alfred Williams, 20, of Rittman got a $20 fine and five months in jail for operating without a license. The remaining girl in the party was released.

Mrs Frances Bair a WWI Gold Star Mother aged 85 was found dead in her home at 107 North Main Street Rittman after neighbors alerted authorities when she failed to appear. She lived alone since 1918 widow of a local veteran and leaves nine children six daughters among them Mrs Albert Deneke and George Forror as a brother. Funeral set for Saturday at 2 PM at United Brethren Church Rev W E Price will officiate with burial in Rittman Cemetery. The local American Legion post was named for her son Howard killed in the war.

Merchants Meet Friday On Five Day Week Plan
