White House nutrition conference spurs Akron data drive
A 1969 White House Conference on Food Nutrition and Health highlighted poor nutrition among infants the elderly and the poor and urged data collection to measure damage locally. The Akron area groups led by the Akron Dietetic Association and Greater Akron Area Dietetic Association plan a state comprehensive survey starting January 1972. Also notes Medicare hospital deductible rising to 68 dollars after December 31 with 60 dollars through year end.
