Edison Plans 100 Million Upgrade For Environmental Equipment
Edison estimates environmental improvement equipment costs may reach 100 million dollars. About six percent of plant output would be used for operation. In 1972, about 9 million is planned for installing peaking units at five of eight existing stations driven by fuel oil powered turbines or diesels for quick startup during high demand. Transmission line and major substation additions will require a large share of budgets, with over 22 million set for transmission work. The largest line project links Ohio Edison’s Beaver Substation near Lorain to a westward connection.

Rittman Wrestlers Take First Place at Wayne Invitational
Rittman earned two first place ribbons and a fourth at the Wayne Invitational. Tom Isaac won 8-0 in overtime over Orrville and also defeated Wooster and Mapleton before pinning Buckeye 7-1 to win his weight class. Jim Wenger beat Canton Lincoln Norwayne Mapleton and Orrville in an overtime decision. Rick Shreve reached fourth after losses. David Steiner won two matches against Mogadore and Wooster. 16 teams from Canton Wooster area competed at Smithville High School. Rittman schedules away duals January 6 at Triway and January 8 at Waynedale.
