Mayors Report Praises Ritman Reform Milestones

The Ritman mayor’s two year review lauds rapid growth from darkness to modern utilities. Paving Main Street, electric lighting, waterworks, sewers, a hall, and an auditorium progress are highlighted along with a new electric railway franchise and gas efforts.

Obituary of Daniel W Brenneman of Rittman

Daniel W Brenneman born near Smithville July 19 1860 died in Rittman December 23 1915 at age 65 years 5 months 4 days. He married Elizabeth Forrer May 20 1873 and eight children were born three sons and five daughters. Survivors include sons W M Brenneman H C Brenneman J B Brenneman all of Rittman and daughters Mrs Ti J Steiner Mrs A J Hilly and Lucile Brenneman. Three sisters Mrs C B Sehasinger Mrs S Lichtenwalter and Mrs J Klopfenstein plus 17 grandchildren. He joined the Brethren in 1876 and lived a Christian life, worked in farming then grocery, served one term as village councilman. Funeral at the Hyterian church conducted by Dr. Allen Miller. interment at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Opera House Notes New show times and pricing changes listed

After January 1 doors open at the usual hour but shows start fifteen minutes earlier and two performances will be seen. Talking pictures move to Monday evenings. one comedy runs each Sunday with Munual Amaster pictures. Some Saturdays present high class films with price ranges from 10 to 25 cents. The Drug Terror opens January 1 at 15 cents. Way Down East on January 8 also 15 cents. A $25 gold prize is offered for a couple who marries on stage in 1916 leap year. The high-kindle orchestra provides music every Saturday.
