Tragic Accident Claims Life of Lyman A. Gish
Lyman A. Gish 57 of Sterling died in a morning accident when a car started and an automatic door opener failed. He collapsed and asphyxiated by engine fumes after leaving the car to fix the door. Survived by wife and two sons, with services held at Gillman Funeral Home.

Interact plans Hauenstein Children’s Fund for jackets
Interact, the high school service club, starts the Hauenstein Children’s Fund to buy cold weather clothing for needy pupils. Co-presidents Carl Rastorfer and Linda Wenger say the fund honors W H Bill Hauenstein, who for 23 years led the Rittman school system and privately funded similar aid. The fund will be run by four area principals and housed in the superintendent’s office at 68 W Liberty St.

Loreen Gatehouse Rittman native dies after long illness
Services were held for Loreen Kay Gatehouse 21 of 90 Warren Street Wooster who died Thursday at Wooster Community Hospital after a long illness. She was born in Wooster, raised in Rittman, a United Methodist Church member, and a 1966 Rittman High School graduate. Survived by her father Carl and brother Terry. mother Florence died in 1967. Rev Daniel Remaley officiated. Burial Chestnut Hill Cemetery. Gillman Funeral Home arranged the services.

Mrs Anna K Rinard age 92 of 112 South Hickin died Saturday at Wayne County Home where she had been a patient for three weeks. Services were Tuesday in Rinard Mills with four daughters two sons and many grandchildren and great grandchildren among survivors.

Mrs. Boss of 114 Greenwood braids rugs in four weeks as a handicapped polio survivor. At 77 she still works daily, sewing 50 garments per rug and has made about 200 rugs for friends and relatives. She quilts 18 quilts, bakes for neighbors, and inspired by family including chef son Jim in Cleveland and son Gerald in Cincinnati.
