Rittman High Indians defeated Medina 46-34 in the first home game Saturday night. Medina led 18-16 at halftime, Rittman took control in the fourth frame with 20 points. Glent McConnell scored 17 for Rittman, Higdon led Medina with nine.

Sunday features Angel Chorus Nativity Wise Men by Starlight and The Best Christmas Gift Ever Given with one picture given to the church and seven sold at 1.00 each. All are invited.

Mrs James Hockenberry and sons visit relatives in Pennsylvania. daughter Joan contracts chicken pox and stays with grandparents until recovered. Mrs Fred DeMaria and infant return home. Mrs Rose Weigand of Nelsonville Ohio visits brother L G DeVore on South Fourth street for Christmas. Mrs M C Cunningham ill with flu. John and Anne Benek miss school due to flu. Mrs C L Stearns and daughter Annette ill at home. Mr and Mrs James Rodney Fischer of Pasadena California visit Rev and Mrs D B Davidson at 30 West Second Street. Fischer is a chemist in a Pacific war plant.
Superintendent W. A. Garver announced with salvage chair man R. V. Fredrick that schools will sponsor a monthly waste paper collection during the emergency period. The next drive is scheduled for Friday January 21.
Sterling will bring a veteran five to face the Indians next Thursday night for the second home fray. Two games at 7 30 p m, varsity and reserve, with Sterling testing the Indians who are coming off a win against Medina.

Technical Sergeant Joseph A McElwee is spending a 30 day furlough in his parents home north of town. He enlisted in October 1940 and is now stationed at Puerto Rico in the Antilles Air Command. He has served in Panama and the West Indies. This is his first furlough since enlistment.

The Unperfect Circle held a club meeting at Al Grat's home December 20 Al prepared a brief meal in hours Mr Hauenstein and Mr Gravereau their guests helped wash dishes and departed, while the meeting continued with members contributing to the evening's entertainment.
The Lions club recreation committee, meeting with local men's groups at the high school, plans an organized public recreation program for men and boys. The first night is Monday Jan 3 at 7 30 p m in the high school gym. Any man or boy may participate. attendees should use the rear north gym door and bring gym shoes and trunks. Showers will be available after.

Mrs. Oylvia Breecsee, mother of Howard Breece of South State, died Sunday at the home of another son Maryin in Gahanna Ohio. Funeral services were held at Winter's Funeral Home in Richwood and burial in Magnetic Springs. She would have been 78 on her upcoming birthday. Attending from here were Mr and Mrs H B Breece Jr, Mrs Wm Breece and Mrs Breece.
Mrs Theora Williams aged 42 died Saturday evening after an operation at Wadsworth Hospital. Survived by husband S L Williams and one son Wilbur Short. Funeral services were held at Ebert Funeral Home on Monday afternoon, body taken to Quas ker City for burial.
Ray P Steiner of Sterling will head the upcoming bond drive succeeding I W Mauch who led the last drive and will be away much of the period. The drive begins Tuesday January 18 and ends Tuesday February 15.
