Rittman Board Faces State Funds Shortfall and 1976 Budget
The Rittman Board of Education warned a $25 000 December payroll deficit due to a new State Foundation Formula and a 90 day payout delay. Supt Larry Stucky noted the shortfall but said the district isn’t as strained as others and that year end transfers and January payroll payments were authorized. The board also approved five high school construction bonds and OSBA membership but took no action on the free lunch program or school security lighting.

Gish Homestead moves to Pioneer Cemetery site

Rittman Council OKs Recognizing REA as City’s Bargaining Unit
The Rittman City Council formally recognizes the Rittman Employees Association as the authorized bargaining unit for city workers and plans negotiations next month on what is bargainable. Councilman Al Imhoff reversed prior denial. Council President Warren Hardgrove dissented citing police as instigators. The meeting also set a salary ordinance with a potential delay of a $1000 raise for City Manager Larry Moedt and approved landmark renamings and a 10 year Ohio Edison contract with no rate increase.
