Public Hearing Planned on Willow Brook FHA Policy

Willow Brook Rittman 100 unit housing project faces a city hall public hearing next Monday after an FHA ultimatum. Council formed a committee with A C Fackler Father John Farrell W H Hauenstein K W Osborne Harold Rich and a tenants representative to study options. Frank Miskell of the FHA reported the agency wants a decision on permanence or removal of the project with lease terms expiring in 1950 and veterans having first preference if disposed.

Rotary speaker lauds free enterprise gains over government control

C. D McVay of Ohio Farriers Insurance Co told Rittman Rotarians at a Thursday luncheon that government controls have limits, arguing the free enterprise system best rewards individual initiative and remains crucial despite continued controls.

Rites Held for Mrs Alexander in Rittman

Funeral services for Mrs Margaret Alexander wife of Dr E Alexander were conducted Tuesday at the Rittman Presbyterian Church with Rev Dwight B Davidson officiating. Assistants included Rev Arthur Romig. Pallbearers were G H Clippinger C B Shook H L Qualman Harry Brenneman E E McConnell and C I Rohrer. Body later moved to Collegedale Tennessee for further services and burial.

Indians Play Loudonville Friday at Home

Rittman High's Indians host Loudonville Friday night at 7 p.m. in a home game after a 49 to 47 loss to Doylestown last Saturday and a 26 to 24 win over Kent State High the prior night. Homer Moore notes Chamber of Commerce membership around 101 at founding and 68 at the Dec 7 annual meeting.

Council to Consider Employee Pay Increases At Next Meeting

City council plans action on pay raises for municipal workers at the upcoming regular meeting Monday.
