Mrs Ren Rohrer Dies After Long Illness

Mrs Ren Rohrer, 67 years old, died Friday at the farm where she lived since 1878 after a year long illness. She was mother of Sam Rohrer. nephews John and Charles Rohrer and several relatives attended the funeral Tuesday. Burial was at the Mennonite church north of town.

American Legion Auxiliary Plans Holiday Gift Box for Ex Soldiers

In response to a state hospital appeal, the American Legion auxiliary will send a box of homemade candy cookies gem-pan cakes nuts and oranges to ex soldiers at the national military hospital in Dayton Quie Contributions are welcome The auxiliary will receive items Wednesday afternoon December 20 from 1 to 4 at The American Legion rooms above The Press office They also thank supporters for the Thanksgiving box sent to Rocky Glen sanitarium and report a staff grateful reply from the hospital and ex-soldiers.

Rittman Woman Granted Divorce in County Court

On Saturday Judge Starn granted divorces to two women in the county common pleas court. Mrs Mauda Basinger of Rittman was granted a divorce from Azaruz Basinger on grounds of extreme cruelty. Karl Hoover represented Mrs Basinger. A property settlement was approved and Mrs Basinger was given custody of the children with Mr Basinger ordered to pay 45 dollars a month.

Former Rittman youth Nomiated Treasurer of Akron Builders Exchange

Harry Wright, a former Rittman boy now an Akron business figure, has been nominated treasurer of the Akron Builders Exchange. He is an officer of the Akron Builders Supply Co. and son of Mr and Mrs W H Wright. his brother Will Wright is also a noted Akron businessman.

District 13 lumbermen including Wayne Aaland Richland Holmoncos met at the People's Loan Co. dining rooms for a venison dinner hosted by W. R. Curry of Curry Lumber Co. in Wooster. Forty-one representatives attended as part of a regular district meeting with talks and a 48 piece musical program.

Mrs. Elizabeth Wenger aged 85 dies suddenly Saturday at her home south of Burton City. She lived her entire life in Baughman to where she was known as Auntie Wenger and was an aunt of Christ Wenger and his family.

Mrs Clyde Adams Undergoes Appendectomy At Wooster

Mrs Clyde Adams was taken to a Wooster hospital Sunday evening for an appendectomy performed Monday afternoon. She is recovering well and expected to be able to return home after a standard hospital stay if no complications arise. The Adamses, former Creston residents, run the M. W. & O. telephone exchange at night and live in company furnished rooms. friends hope for her speedy recovery.

Death of Mrs. Robert Maxwell Leaves Maxwell Family Grieving

Mrs. Robert Maxwell, daughter-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Maxwell, died last Friday in a Cleveland hospital after several weeks illness. The cause of death is not yet known. Mrs. Maxwell, married about two years, leaves husband Robert Maxwell and mourners. Ohio Northern University alumni are asked to contact C. G. Leapley in Wooster to help secure a permanent student record.

Word of the death of Mrs. Chas Miller reached Ruttean on Monday she died Sunday evening at her parents home in North Lawrence after a sick spell in Rittman She was about 20 and had lived in Rittman for three years since her marriage to Charles Miller The death came as a complete shock to friends in the area

Orrville Farmer John H Leichty Dies Suddenly at Home

John H Leichty of Orrville died suddenly at his home while doing his chores on a Saturday morning. He was past 75 and the cause was arterial sclerosis. Born in Groone tp, he spent his life there and married Fanny Conrad, who died 31 years ago. Rittman relatives and the children of the late Conrad family were notified.

Injured Fingers Pace Sterling Youth in Saw Incident

Charien Walters, a former residing youth of Sterling, sustained a severe bite into his finger when a buzz saw struck his hand while buzzing wood last Sunday. The injury was not detaching the finger, but the blade cut it about halfway through and medical care was provided immediately.

Mrs H D Shannon wife of County Commissioner H D Shannon died at the Shannon home in Orrville Ohio after a 13 week cancer illness. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon conducted by Rev W H Oswalt her minister.

Congress passed a bill signed by President Harding increasing pensions for Civil War veterans and widows. Veterans of 1846 to 1865 receive 72 dollars per month while widows of Civil War soldiers get 56 dollars monthly. Increase effective January 4, 1928 with lenient widow provisions.

Rittman Grange Plans Christmas Exercises and Banner Honor

The Rittman Grange voted to hold Christmas exercises on Friday evening December 16 1922 and to send lecturer Mrs Wilson Stoo to the state meeting in Columbus December 12 13 14 and 16. Members praised Master Steiner for earning the Colden Jubilee banner and approved a program rich in songs dances recitations and reports.
