A fragmented reminiscence recalls WH Bacher on Thanksgiving with a dray and items for the day. The piece notes he did not seek pay, contrasting with others and hinting at a bygone Pleasant View setting.
The Rittman council met Monday evening December 2 with all members present except Brenneman. After routine proceedings several communications were read and a sanitation motion passed authorizing Health Officer Dr Hagerman to notify property owners who neglected cleaning vaults to address the issue.

The U. B. Sunday school basketball team, recently organized, will occupy room No. 2 on the first floor of Realty block. Fixtures arrive this week and the boys may meet for practice. Anyone desiring to join should notify Captain John Steffani.
Reports describe a man killed after both legs severed by a running engine near Warwick while his wife, en route to visit him, died from a fractured skull. A second obituary notes Mrs Blanche Landis, 26, wife of George Landis, died at home after a period of illness.
Card of Thanks thanks neighbors and ministers for comfort during sickness and death of Joan Viall. Also lists numerous property transfers in Orrville Rittman Green and Chippewa townships with sale terms and a public sale of the Martha Gish farm near Sterling. Frank Brubaker conducts the sale with detailed items and payment terms.
Henry Pinkley, 60, hanged himself Thursday at his brother C. G. Pinkley’s residence south of Creston. Poor health and marital troubles are cited as the likely causes, with Crippled up aging noted in the report.
The State Board of Agriculture will hold farmers institutes in Wayne county with sessions at West Salem on December 16 and 17, Shreve on January 10 and 11, Creston on January 27 and 28, and Smithville on January 29 and 30.
Bees group L O T M met Thursday evening at Mrs. Fred Snyder's home with about 30 attendees despite bad weather. The hive holds meetings on the first and third Thursday at the Schorger block hall and on intermediate Thursdays for member social gatherings.
