Joe Lunter Buried Saturday in Rittman
Services were held Saturday for Joseph Lunter 70 of 96 North Third. He died after an apparent heart attack while working with his son in Wadsworth. Born March 14 1899 in Czechoslovakia he lived in Rittman 40 years and worked 35 years at Packaging Corporation of America. Surviving son John a brother George three grandchildren and wife Mary died 1962. Gillman Funeral Home arranged the services Rev Daniel Rema ley officiated burial in Rittman Cemetery

Conley's Coloring Contest This Week
Conley's annual Christmas coloring contest launches with a blank drawing in area newspapers and a policy that every entry wins a small gift. The grand prize is a world’s largest stuffed Christmas stocking with five other prizes including a GE transistor radio and toys for appropriate ages. Ballots for MPF Advisory Council members are mailed to members in nine Ohio districts and one in southern Indiana and Michigan. Members must return ballots by December to MPF officials in Cleveland or Canton. District nominations were made by district committees reflecting the grass roots nature of MPF. Longtime Rittman businessman Joseph Wald 72 buried
Joseph A Wald of 45 North State died Sunday after a long illness at Wadsworth Rittman Hospital. Born April 16 1897 in Sterling he lived in the area his whole life. He owned the Rittman Dairy for 19 years and Walds Grocery for 18 years before retiring in 1965. A World War II Army veteran he served as commander of American Legion Howard A. Bair Post 423 in 1939 and 1967 and was chaplain for several years. He served on the Rittman Board of Education from 1946 to 1956 and belonged to several clubs and churches including St Ann Catholic Church Holy Name Society and the St Ann Cemetery sexton role.

The Rittman High School Band and choir present their annual Christmas concert Sunday at 3 p.m. in the high school auditorium with free admission. Performances include Freshmen Girls and Prep choir with Christmas selections, Concert Choir pieces by Bach Rozsa and Mendelssohn, the Choralaires singing classic carols, and the High School Concert Band under Dennis Antram and Jane Rock with Mozart and traditional arrangements. Directors are Mrs Carolyn Warren and David Plamer with accompanists Mary Melenbacker and Nancy Emeb.
