Death of Mrs. Harry Raff 1897 1938 noted in community

Corrine Dowd Raff born Cary Ohio moved to Rittman as a child died at 41 after illness from Hinass and pneumonia. She married Harry Raff in 1938, mother of Ruth, member of Presbyterian church and Pythian Sisters. Funeral held December 9 at the Presbyterian church Kannupps cemetery interment, pallbearers and flower bearers named.

Rittman Orchards Co Holds Annual Stockholders Meeting

Stockholders gathered at the Shook office Tuesday evening for the annual meeting. Directors were elected and a satisfactory report was presented. The new directors will meet next Tuesday evening at W. R. Shook's office.

Wayne Summit Bowling League Forms in Doylestown

Representatives from Barberton Orrville Doylestown and nearby towns met in Doylestown on December 3 to organize the Wayne Summit Bowling League. Members include Wittman Orrville Barberton Kenogaore Wooster and Doylestown with Armand Goffinet representing Rittman. The season runs January to April 16 using official ABC rules and prize awards at season end.

Ohio Firms Raise Large Benevolence Gift For Salvation Army

Employees at The Ohio Companies contributed a record amount on a single day, totaling 3876500, to support Salvation Army relief efforts. Donations ranged from 10 cents to ten dollars and will fund a yearly Attman budget distributed to the needy by a citizen committee.

On December 8 1926 a petition was filed with Wayne County Commissioners by the Mayor of Rittman seeking annexation of described land joining the village. A J Miller of North First Street suffered a stroke last Thursday with a serious condition for a time. His right side was affected and speech impaired, but his speech is now somewhat better and he is hoped to recover.

Creditors Receive 25 Percent Dividend in Kreider Estate

The creditors of the late R. T. Kreider of Barberton have received a 25 percent dividend by order of Summit county court. Kreider owned three stores in Barberton Wadsworth and Medina. It is unlikely the estate will pay further without securing judgment in the $100,000 Erie damage suit.
