About a month ago Jack Jones shot a mallard at Preatles Pond and found two ID tags on it. The tags traced to Frank Ash of Stoney Gallop group Jefferson County New York and a Fulton based federal agency. Rittman Christmas lighting returns this week as the Chamber sponsors the annual display. A local shopper had a minor car crash while out of town and learned her insurance did not cover such incidents. Mrs Evelyn Grant’s weekly column will not appear this week due to illness.

The Rittman Board of Education approved the high school addition drawings by Barnes of Spahn and Barnes. Bids will be opened at noon December 29 with contractors invited to study the project. A Metzger Ave grade school drawing is planned for January and February completion to invite bids by March. The project adds a gym, home economics shop, and industrial arts spaces, with the present gym becoming a 400 seat auditorium and music room.
