A post office inspector recommends free oil delivery for Rittman after three days of inquiry. He says meeting district improvements and street markers at intersections is needed. The mayor and Postmaster Longenecker were told a carrier could start within three months if approved, with railroads used for mail handling.
Rittman business leaders and American Legion members met in Legion rooms to confirm a three day fall festival on October 9 10 and 11 with amusements a street fair auctions bands displays of farm and local business products a country store and various concessions. A follow up meeting set for Thursday at 6 30 to finalize committees and details.
H A Fulton returns from a two month trip in the west. He visited his son Harve in Colorado, daughter Martha Bonsor in Nebraska, and son Nell in Chicago.

Born to Mr and Mrs David Baumgartner on Aug 20 a daughter. Born to Mr and Mrs Frank Harrold on Aug 21 a daughter. Born to Mr and Mrs Ezra Beery on Aug 24 a son.
Miss Ruth Cole of Creston and Ruth Spangter of Wooster, both former Lake Chautauqua hires, toured Wayne County after leaving their jobs. They pinned tourist pennants, rode sarmus machines and an ice trap to return home, walking under ten miles. Cole was previously employed in a local factory.
Rittman schools announce a September opening with a 21 teacher staff plus Supt Mason. The list includes E GQ Mason and J L Maurer from Wooster, Ruth Bechtel and Edna Low from Woost, plus several teachers from Rittman Sterling and West Salem. The date marks a Monday start with a full faculty for the new term.
Eighteen Pythian Sisters traveled to Medina Thursday for an afternoon tour of the Pythian Sisters Home northwest of Medina. Superintendent Hattie Mott guided the group through the house and grounds and a picnic supper was served on the lawn.
In an interview with Harry Ellis the new butcher in town, the Rucket Cash Grocery will host a Friday opening of Rittman Cash Market next to the post office. Ellis comes from Medina where he managed Palmer Markets and has long experience with the chain in Cleveland, Medina, and Berea.
A note expresses gratitude to friends, neighbors, the 88 class, and O. E. S. of Wadsworth for flowers received during confinement in Wooster Hospital, and for cards and letters of cheer.
Ben A. Arneson, head of the Political Science Department at Ohio Wesleyan University and ex-president of the Ohio Academy of Political Science, lectures on Pun ished Politics. He is listed in Who's Who in America and belongs to the American Political Science Association.
The Redpath Chautauqua ends its five day program with strong reviews for the second night comedy drama Give and Take. A plan to secure 60 guarantors for next year aims to start with a $200 treasury surplus. Each guarantor will sell two extra tickets to reach the goal.
Rev R F W Lennington spoke Sunday on Brazil covering customs education and morals. Born to missionary parents in Brazil he spoke from experience and will sail to the South continent in about two weeks while his family studies at Wooster College.
Local residents list J. C. Young J. J. Wein and Mrs. Gladys Helks among Wayne County Democratic executive committee personnel. Both major parties in the county have held meetings and are preparing for the campaign.
A bulletin from the Touring and Transportation Board of the American Automobile Association describes growing and varied member requests. It notes clubs develop new services, from camping guides to desiccated food sourcing for campers, as motoring grows more complex and club support expands.
Funeral services were held in West Salem Ohio for Dr J W Ferguson aged 73 who practiced medicine there for 30 years and was a longtime Wayne County resident. The funeral was led by Rev JC Paul of the Presbyterian church where Ferguson was an elder.
Sheriff’s deputies found a still in the West Lebanon home of I Eggans, about 70, along with 25 gallons of rye whiskey and 16 barrels of mash. Eggans pled guilty before Squire Bolus in Wooster and was fined 200 dollars plus costs.
The mayor again asks owners to remove obnoxious weeds from vacant lots and street frontage under the town ordinance. Residents are urged to comply and cut the weeds to maintain cleanliness and safety.
Report from Columbus Ohio and other sites notes that the International Motor Goisteat Association sanction marks the final day of the event with short and long distance races. A $1000 prize is offered for a new world record and drivers breaking credible speed marks receive rewards as the sport shows growing public interest nationwide.

Last Thursday at 7:30 Charles McAnnstlen eight is struck when his bicycle collided with an approaching car on Main Street. He was thrown onto the parking strip, sustaining a broken leg four inches above the knee. He was treated at Dr Toland's office and later moved to Wadsworth Hospital.
The Business Men of Rittman announce a sale and auction on Tuesday September 9. Farmers are urged to bring hats stock and any items for sale early so advertising can be prepared.
