Walter E. Blackwell of Rittman was found guilty of possessing for sale untaxed wine in Wooster Common Pleas Court. A seven to five jury convicted after a two day trial. six months in jail and $200 fine were imposed, with $100 of the fine suspended on one year probation. Prosecutor Raymond O. Morgan led the state case. Attorney Robert Critchfield defended. Charges stemmed from sale of six quarts of wine for 50 cents to state liquor inspectors. jury deliberated long before verdict.
