Schultz King A Weense Te Wel Was Issued Last Saturday

The notice announces the marriage of Schultz King A Weensetee to Boyd Ring and Felma Schultz of this parish. The bride is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Walter Schnitz, both well known locally. 1927 Chautauqua faces deficit but gains sponsors

Closing excerpts show the 1927 Redpath Chautauqua in Orrville ending with a deficit despite strong crowd support. Sixty patrons paid 600 dollars each and 60 sponsors were secured for next year. The 1926 session was financially better, with guarantors breaking even and 50 people signing for the next season. A free will offering aided guarantors but a full top ticket total remained elusive. Funeral Held For Mrs Magdailine Eby In Sterling

Last week Tuesday morning the funeral of Mrs Magdailine Eby widow of the late Mr Eby was held from St Anna's Church in Sterling. Rev Ouimet officiated. Mrs Eby, 67, had not been well for some time. She had lived with her daughter Mrs Floyd Wright in Sterling for about a month before her death and previously in Creston with another daughter Mrs John Myers.

Mrs Norman Gelsinger's Kansas trip ends in Plains visit

Mrs Norman Gelsinger has spent about three months visiting in the Bhig vicinity and Mehoning county. She departed for Plains Kansas and will spend a few days at Taylorville Illinois with friends and relatives on her way home.

Shoe store sale set for Friday at public auction

First Venture Big Success on Widow Zollinger Farm Well

A locally owned venture drilled a well on the Widow Zollinger farm last week and completed last Thursday. The Weatheffer Wenger well shows strong rock pressure and a gas yield of over 3,000 units, marking the first successful bore by the involved local citizens who enthusiastically celebrate the find.

Taxes Collected Totals for the Year 1928 Reported

The treasurer Florence Link reports over $2,000,000 in taxes collected for 1928. Details show $1,079,202.48 in the first half and $933,107.03 in the second half. The record also notes over $2,600,000 collected in tavern taxes for 1925.
