The Rittman Auto club began plans for its annual entertainment of Wayne County orphans and crippled children. Committees were appointed to finalize arrangements Tuesday evening. Last year the outing was a full day picnic at Chippewa Lake with amusements funded by the club and transportation provided by members.
At a Monday meeting Creston voted to force Cleveland Southwestern Railway and Light Co. to remove tracks the full Main Street length and implement a new franchise that refuses pavement obligations. Both sides stand firm, risking loss of electric streetcar service and considering bus options.
Tuesday forenoon on Route 94 towards Camp Forest near Akron a two-vehicle Scout party from Rittman met an accident. Mrs W W Bodager drove one car with two sons and four scouts Ceilst Kamp Grace Kamp Elizabeth Shackelford Lily Robertson. Elizabeth Shackelford and Grace Kamp were taken to Wadsworth hospital with injuries. Grave Kamp received a minor scalp wound. Shackelford may have internal injuries and a fractured pelvic bone. Mrs Bodager was cut on face and hand.
Gerard Belamy failed to travel far enough when his board hit. He was fined 15 dollars and costs and sentenced to 10 days in Mayor Benders court after arrest by Marshal Mills last week. Norman Wellman was arrested for burglary at three homes including Lance Bros store and Simpson’s restaurant. Only loot was 12.60 at Klines. Wellman offered bond of 2000 dollars and faces grand jury next month for burglary and larceny. He recently returned from Michigan and had been a Rittman resident.
The American Legion rifle club lists weekly scores including Schumaker 29 Baldwin 29 Breece 392 Brown 32 Looser 31 K Chap man 15 J Possi 37 G M Chap man 29 Blough 23 Shodk 30 Gebhart Noe 40 R Blough 3h and notes eligibility for members over 13 years.
Mrs. Wm. Ritter hosted Circle One of the Presbyterian church at Ler Cottage on East Reservoir for a shaded covered dish picnic. About 28 guests gathered under trees for a cool lake breeze and a motor boat ride across the lake was enjoyed. W. T. McAnallen, employed in Michigan, visited relatives in Grove City, Pa., returning to work last Thursday.

The day ended with the girls dispersing to park areas and returning home later.
