PTA Holds Organizational Meeting and Nominating Committee

An organizational committee meeting of the PTA was held Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Leonard Over. Constitution and by laws were discussed and a nominating committee was appointed with Mrs Thelma Gwaltney as chairwoman, Mrs Vernon Steiner, Mrs Avery Kinch and Mrs Jay Griffith as members, and Myron Steiner named as counselor.

Daylight Time Change Triggers Village and Akron Switch

Voters go to polls next Tuesday May 2 to choose party nominees for county offices in Wayne County. The sole contest on the Democratic ticket is for county commissioner between Ralph M. Matthey and John B. Fischinger, while Republicans have no contests. Candidates will also be chosen for county auditor and state representative.

One Hour Parking Limit Set On Main Street

Council approves one hour parking on both sides of Main Street from Sheldon Ave to the B and O tracks after complaints from Claude Smith of Lawsons dairy store about blocked deliveries and limited store space. City will also assess sewer and water work on Grandview Blvd and consider Metzger Ave improvements.

Paul M Yoder of Orrville takes over the Fletcher Radio Repair building on S Mams for a watch and clock repair shop. He plans to move to Rittman eventually and has four years of experience with Orrville repairman C R Moser. Business opens after May 1.

Students tour Ohio Boxboard and CBC plants

One hundred and three seventh grade geography pupils visited the Ohio Boxboard plant on Wednesday April 12 with teachers Miss Hratchouhi George and Mrs LeRoy Weber. On Thursday April 14 seventeen Jeromesville High School chemistry pupils toured the CBC plant led by Robert Daniels with escort Kenneth Lance.

Warn Kite Fliers Urged to Drop Wire Lines

Ohio Public Service warns area youngsters against using wire for kite lines after a local boy nearly was electrocuted by a 2300 volt line. A year ago Fort Clinton resident died in a similar incident. Parents urged to ensure safe kite practice. Caled Men’s Chorus of Wooster First Baptist, directed by Joseph Follis, will perform at Church of God at 7:39 pm Sunday.
