Local Girl Survives Fatal Auto Crash On Route 70
Judy Brown 17 of Rittman and two others survived a Route 70 crash near Doylestown that killed James Cutting Jr 18 of Akron. Stephen Mook 18 unfamiliar with the road lost control slamming into a utility pole. Judy and the others were treated and released at Wadsworth Rittman Hospital. Cutting was a Manchester High School student and burial set at Adams Funeral Home Akron Mt Peace cemetery.

Funeral services were held for Sidney Watts age 58 of 58 Grant who died Monday morning after a long illness. He was born in Genoa West Virginia and lived in Rittman 15 years. He pastored the Independent Baptist Church of Creston and worked at General Motors Brook Park for 15 years. Survived by his wife Hattie four sons and three daughters and large extended family. Services were at Rittman Community Church with Gillman Funeral Home in charge. Burial in Rittman Cemetery.
