Funeral 1:30 p.m. Monday at First Brethren Church. burial in Rittman Cemetery. Friends may visit Gillman Funeral Home 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday and one hour before service.

Rittman Board Approves 55 Percent Salary Increase
The Rittman Board of Education voted unanimously Friday to approve a 55 percent salary raise for the Rittman Education Association covering salary, fringe benefits and sick leave. The base salary is $6,850 from April 4, 1972 with 1.25 sick days per month to a 150 day cap. new hires receive 5 days sick leave at start. The raise adds $29,000 to 1972 and $53,800 for 1973. Additional actions include bids for roof and asphalt repairs, ESEA Title II funding for library materials, and investing up to $117,000 in CDs or U.S. Treasury Notes. The district approved staff resignations, substitutions, one-year contracts for 1972-73, and a 3-year contract for four principals, while rehiring 61 teachers on limited contracts.
