Recreation Board Names Cleveland Man Rittman Director
Dale Thompson of Cleveland is named the new Rittman Recreation Director and will assume the post May 1. He was the unanimous choice from 78 applicants. Thompson, 32, has worked as a social worker for the Neighborhood Settlement Association in Cleveland since last September and previously at the Chicago Commons Association. He served in the South Pacific with the Air Force and was decorated in the Luzon invasion. He is a Bradford High School and Ohio State University graduate. He will relocate his family to Rittman before May 1.

Rittman Council Orders Sewage Plant Construction
Rittman authorities move to start building a Primary Treatment Plant to meet a State Health Department order issued four years ago. The plan follows engineer Barstow’s drawings with new lines as needed to convey sewage. Council may appoint village engineers Parret and Johnson if Barstow cannot supervise.

Mother of Seven Dies In Accident
Mrs Clara Shaw of Rittman died from a brain injury after a head on collision on Route 224 near Wadsworth Saturday night. Driver Hubert Holland of Rittman faced a second degree manslaughter charge with a $1000 bond after being held for Medina County Grand Jury. Melvern Mosier of Lodi sustained minor injuries.

The joint football basketball banquet for Rittman High School is scheduled for 6 30 p m April 24 at the American Legion hall. Sherman S Dalbey will be master of ceremonies.
