Wooster Board of Trade Band concert delights crowd

The Wooster Board of Trade Band held a concert in the high school auditorium. Despite many cars, main seating was mostly empty while elevated seats filled. Miss Kalster sang. Mr Smiley played trombone solos and composed a march Yousef Khan. Proceeds will help defray a deficit from the lyceum course.

Olla Podrida Club Meets on Third Street

The Olla Podrida club met Tuesday afternoon at 2 30 with Mrs Harold Brakewood on Third Street. President Mrs Mra I L B Mahle called the meeting to order. Mrs C D St Clair explained the meaning of the club name. Mickin led Current Events with domestic and foreign items. Mrs H S Squibbs read a paper on Americas Historical Events in April and reported nationwide events. Mrs John Hickin read a light guided piece My Grandpa. Mrs ALL Ebert acted as critic. Guest Mrs Phyllis Kummer of Portland attended. Refreshments were served and the meeting adjourned to be held in three weeks at Mrs A I Eberts home.

Presbyterian Church Social Showcases Local Talent

A church social at the Presbyterian Church featured guests and a quartet from Wadsworth. The evening highlighted piano selections by Hartze and songs performed by the Ladlen Quartet, drawing mixed reactions from attendees.

Orrville Fire Destroys Lincoln Way Garage

A Monday evening blaze in Orrville destroyed the Lincoln Way Garage owned by Hayes Adams. About 25 to 30 machines were lost, five sold, with an estimated 50 000 dollars in damage. The Wooster fire department arrived late. traffic and the Manhattan Limited train faced delays. Sam Brenneman estate owned the building which was insured.

Spring Opening Prizes Drawn At Pastime Theatre

A promotion offers 150.00 in prizes with a drawing Saturday night at 10 o clock marking the business spring opening. Coupons collected from stores via a special truck. an electric washer from Rittman Hardware as a top prize. Two drawings for first and second choice conducted at the Pastime Theatre, with EB Hamilton in charge. Results to be published in next week’s Rittman Press.

Men’s Athletic Association Disbands for Summer

The regular Wednesday meeting of the business and professional Men's Athletic Association has been discontinued for the summer. A vote of thanks was given to Mr Garber, director, and Mr Petit, janitor, for their time and interest. The secretary hopes for larger membership next year.

Obituary of Frank Caillet Age 66 in Ohio

Frank Caillet born February 16 1859 at Arpeneau France died April 7 1926 at his home near Rittman Ohio aged 66 years 1 month 27 days. He came to this country in 1874 lived near Canton then moved later to Ohio. He married Naomi Beery December 6 1894 joined Christian Apostolic Church in 1903. Survived by wife two sons Augustus Calliet and Justin Calliet a sister Mary Kline and many relatives and friends.
