The Lions Club held a Tuesday dinner at Snyder's Restaurant to honor the Junior High 8 B team as county champions. It was announced there would be no City Hall dance this Saturday but the series would resume next week.
Walter Frye of Wooster was named chairman of the national executive board of the Izaak Walton League at a Chicago session. He has served on the board for four years as the organization, with 15 national members, discussed postwar soil erosion forestry and water control, community forest memorials, and projects tied to health sanctioned water systems. Delegates totaled 300 with 500 registrations representing 25 states and Canada.
Two Rittman High School students received honorable mention in the county general scholarship test at Wooster. Barbara Joyce Harpster scored 205 and Elizabeth Ellen Hostetler 200. Wooster High School swept the first 10 honor places, with a top score of 230.
