Pittman Lake project hailed as a multi million dollar venture

J S Myers of Akron president of the League of Ohio Sportsmen told 224 Wayne County Fish and Game club members at their annual banquet in Wooster the Pittman Lake project would be worth millions not hundreds or thousands. He urged pushing the plan, noting a 1926 program already included a survey.

Sheriff Encounters Local Man Over Board Bill in Rittman

Sheriff Bucher located Samuel Collins in Rittman on Monday. Collins reportedly left a board bill of 75 dollars in Johnson City Tennessee. He was taken to Wooster where he arranged payment and was allowed to return to Rittman.

Speakers for Jefferson Day Banquet at Orrville

Florence Allen of Cleveland supreme court judge and Cyrus Locher director of commerce of Ohio are the principal speakers for the Jefferson day celebration in Orrville on April 13. Gospel Meetings in Realty Church Begin April Six

The Church of Christ in Rittman announces a week of gospel meetings at the Realty room, April six through seven twenty four with services at 745 p.m. Evangelist Bob Tuck from Wooster will preach on topics including What Rittman Needs and Murdered by Foreigners. Sink Hole Attracts Attention On B and O Project

The Wang Construction company reports a long known sink hole between Rittman and Easton along the B and O track improvement from Sterling to Warwick. Since work began three months ago hundreds of carloads of gravel have been dumped into it. Engineers fear it cannot be filled and a solution is sought as curious crowds visit the site on weekends.

The Press ends its subscription drive on April 1 after a strong response to a $100 yearly offer for four weeks. Rittman Grange met March 26 with good attendance despite sickness and bad roads. Master McConnell distributed questionnaires asking members to choose emphasis areas. Three membership applications were received. two new members joined from Tymochtee Grange No 2249. A health project lesson by Afra Wilson Steele and Wanda Przylunka was announced with a second home nursing session set for April 9 at 7 30 in the grange hall. Members discussed why I am a farmer, balancing nature and craft work, and the value of living near the outdoors. An April 23 entertainment lineup and April 2 degree team practice were noted.

Ebert Takes Lease on Space Building Expansion in Rittman

A Ebert undertaker and funeral firm expands by leasing the Space Building in Rittman. The firm moves from the Sigter Hotel Ridg area to larger quarters, with second largest floor space in town. The building will be renovated with new chapel and equipment for the funeral department to be ready by April. One of their boys, Albert Clishime, died at the National Military Hospital in Daytona.
