Boy Injured After Skylight Fall at Bank of Commerce
Paul Wilson, son of Mr and Mrs Arthur Wilson of King Street, fell 30 feet from a skylight in the Bank of Commerce building while trying to recover papers. He suffered a dislocated wrist a fractured arm and other bruises but is recovering nicely.

A sewer extension for L B Williams was deferred. A new pump for the pumping station was ordered. East Washington street was set aside for dancing during term events with street swept nightly. Two colored men killed in card-room feud at High Point shack
Early Saturday a quarrel over a card game at a High Point shack led to Will Rankin shooting and killing John Spease, both Black. Rankin, a drayman for High Point Milling, was arrested nearby by Provost Emery Burns and Private Yank Shields. Spease was found with a brick in hand and an eye knocked out, Rankin jailed awaiting trial. Soldiers praised for their swift action. citizens gave a welcome home to the soldiers Saturday night.
