Aged Confederate Veteran Hector Strickland Dies at 91
Hector Strickland a 91 year old Confederate veteran and respected citizen died Saturday at 4 pm at his son's home 200 East Russell Street after a week of illness. He was a Stedman native who served four years in the war between the states and had recently visited High Point. Survived by son R B Strickland and two daughters Mrs A L Bullard of Stedman and Mrs L V Smith of Raleigh his wife having died 20 years ago.
