Johnson survived by mother four brothers and six sisters. Lloyd Hughes Snider infant son of Mr and Mrs T J Snider of 228 Cedar Street died Sunday. Funeral at home Monday 10 a.m. led by Rev J M Hillard. Interment Oakwood Cemetery.

Narrow Escape From Destruction Near Water Cover
A car of dynamite derailed Sunday night near Water Cover but caused no damage to the city. Dynamite scattered along the track with potential to destroy the town. The engineer, angered by the wreck, said he would not have cared if the entire town had blown up.

Floyd Outts, a white man from Greer South Carolina, was sentenced to 30 days for trespassing. He hired a man to take him to Charlotte for 30 dollars, invited his companion to dinner, and could not pay. He was held awaiting Ed Mungo to return for trial.

Friday in municipal court Judge Kirkman presided over two cases. Will Wrightenberg was found guilty of assaulting Frank Morgan a 77 year old city resident with a whip as Morgan climbed onto his buggy. He was taxed with costs. A M Rankin was found guilty of operating an automobile without a chauffeur license and was taxed with costs despite claims of negligence rather than intent.

Sanitary Workers Start Operations in High Point District

Two Horses Stolen from Archdale Stable
Two horses belonging to Herb Tomlinson of Archdale were taken Monday night. A 16 year old white boy, shot in the hand as he tried to stop the theft, fired at the intruders. The horses were later found near the city.

Tragic Train Collision Kills Three Men Near East Fourteenth Crossing
A Ford car carrying J. W. Brown and his son from Stokes County and Arch Stevens was struck by a shifting train at the Southern Railway crossing in East Fourteenth Crossing. All three men, ages 67 25 and 40, died at the scene or shortly after. Witnesses described bodies being lifted in baskets due to the severity of the impact. Brown had just left a hospital after a minor operation.
