An interesting musical was presented Friday night at the First Baptist church attracting a local audience. Evangelist Ham led revival greetings at West End Baptist with a large crowd attending each night.
In a historic move the Mine ral Separatory Ltd of London and the Miami Copper Company used motion pictures as evidence. Dr William M Grosvenor testified on copper extraction while the screen displayed the process, claiming the method saved patent users more than 50 million dollars.
A. Lyon becomes city manager and Robt. Brockett Jr. tax collector under the new regime. Carter Dalton named recorder with W. P. Pickett as mayor and C D Smith S L Davis and others as selectmen. The new organization meets this week to set the municipal state for two years.
Greensboro Chamber of Commerce members spent three hours Thursday with Bird S. Coler of the Carolina and Yadkin River Railway as they toured Greensboro. Mayor Tate delivered a warm welcome at a Manufacturers' Club smoker before the group toured the city by automobile. High Point welcomed them.
Troy Fitzgerald, a white youth repeatedly before the court on larceny charges, was sent to jail by the Superior Court with orders to commit him to an asylum. His attorneys argued he is a kleptomaniac rather than morally criminal, a diagnosis the Review recently endorsed.
About 2 o'clock Tuesday morning an out-building belonging to Mr D C Seawell manager of the Colonial House on South Main Street was destroyed by fire. The fire station nearby extinguished the blaze quickly and the origin remains unknown.
Ed Walsh the famed pitcher of the Chicago American team is sick in Los Angeles with lagrippe and his departure for Chicago is postponed indefinitely admitting no immediate return.
Ottawa announces a prohibition on shipments of wheat flour and other agricultural products to the United States. Exceptions apply only when shipments are intended for domestic consumption in the United States and not for reshipment. The reason for the ban was not disclosed.
In Mobile on May 4 a mob of masked men overpowered a sheriff's posse while transporting Jesse Hatch a black man accused of attacking a white woman Hatch was captured Sunday but lynched near Fulton after identification by the victim.

Pauline Britt of Britt's Landing leaves for Charlotte to visit cousins.

Baseball at City Park Saturday featured Durham Hosiery Mills defeating the Jitney Cats 13 to 7 in an easy win. Highland Cotton Mills and Bracas played to a 5 to 5 tied game in a surprising result.
Sunday Ernest Murphy took a Southern Car Company lumber truck for a ride on a side track his feet dangled as the car struck a switch tearing muscles from both legs he was attended by Dr Meain and remains in serious condition his family blamed the accident on his defiance of his parents urging to attend Sunday school
Edenton May 5 The Great Council of North Carolina Improved Order of Red Men convenes with delegates from across the state. W E Herndon Great Sachem O R York and W L Stamey lead the High Point delegation while Asheville and Wilmington vie to host next session. Chief matters include Orphans Fund Death Benefit and selecting next meeting site.
Sunday a Southern Railway yard wreck in Greensboro injured five. Brakeman W A Andrews of Spencer suffered a crushed foot. four laborers were slightly hurt. The Carnival troupe’s train to Reidsville from Chester, S C carried Smith Bros. property and passengers. The engine jumped the track. access to the line was restored about an hour later.
