Fire destroys High Point Casket Co plant
A Saturday morning blaze destroyed the High Point Casket Co plant before dawn. The cloth room origin spread rapidly, burning the building to the ground with an estimated 16000 in losses including 3500 in the structure 5500 in machinery and 7000 in stock. Automobile Crash Near Oak Hill Churches Injures Thacker and Holder
Sunday afternoon near Oak Hill church the Ford of W M Thacker left the road and fell into a deep gully. Occupants J Bert Holder and Thacker were only slightly hurt with Holder receiving finger wounds and Thacker feeling shaken. The car, recently purchased, was being driven with Holder coaching. Thacker’s shoe store will undergo extensive improvements after May 10 with a grand sale and remodel planned to create a leading shoe and gentlemen’s furnishings store in the state.
