Julius W. Harriss, a well known High Point citizen and church leader, died after six days of illness. He led the Welch and Marsh furniture ventures, Harriss Covington Hosiery, and held multiple bank and industry roles. A trustee of Greensboro College and Oak Ridge Institute, he helped build Wesley Memorial Episcopal Church and served as chair of its board of stewards.

Mrs Edwards Dies at Bradshaw Street Home
Mrs Laura Edwards, wife of R E Edwards, died Thursday night at 9 36 at her Bradshaw street home after an illness of over a week. She was 23 and is survived by her husband a 10 months old son and her parents Mr and Mrs J J Albright. The funeral was held Friday at 11 at the Christian church with Rev Mr Warick officiating and interment in Prospect cemetery.

Community Service Organizes in High Point for Welfare Work
A city meeting at the chamber of commerce formed a community service organization with A. E. Tate as chair and Mrs. Willis Slane as secretary. A playground committee will stay active, a mass singing leader is expected, and a supervisor for playgrounds will be secured. An objective committee will handle publicity.
