A. S. Meredith aged 68 died Sunday afternoon at 12 30 at his home 905 Mangum avenue after several days illness. Funeral by Rev. Samuel Haworth of Friends church was held at the home with interment at Oakwood cemetery. Survived by widow and seven children Lee James Bert Guy Lyn Joe Meredith and Mrs Ross Carroll of High Point.

Injured Woman Struck by Auto at Main and Guilford Corner
Miss Maude Overde sustained serious injuries Saturday night when hit by a car driven by Carl Hitchcock as she was alighting from a streetcar at the Main street and Guilford avenue intersection. She was tossed about 20 feet but is progressing well.

Canvassers for the proposed M. P. Colleges began Tuesday to raise funds to persuade a committee to locate the college in High Point and offer a free site. About one hundred thousand dollars was raised with hopes for more as more residents are approached.

The editor with Attorney J Allen Austin and C A Kirkman visited Clark's Steven Clarke farm two miles southwest of the city Tuesday afternoon. Clarke plans to subdivide 400 acres into small tracts for sale and the timber and cordwood are being prepared. A 40 acre fenced tract houses a menagerie including buffalos an elk with large antlers and a herd of deer attracting hundreds of visitors.

Sheriff Captures Another Big Still on Thomasville Road
Deputy Sheriff J. E. Wagner and W. Martin found a buried 20 gallon galvanized liquor still on the Davidson county line after 11 am Tuesday. The dig, camouflaged by brush, yielded worm and cap with a 10 pound lard can as a cap. No arrests were reported. This marks the 49th still seized or helped seize by the Guilford deputy since taking office.

Negro fined for carrying pistol in municipal court

Local youths arraigned on gambling charges near Springfield church
Roscoe Yates, Tobe Griffin, Rae Cook, Robert McDowell and T A Adams white youths were arraigned Monday before Magistrate W G Brown on gambling charges.
